This module is based on Nordic's high-performance wireless SOC chip NRF51822 and is a complete low-cost, low-power design for Bluetooth low-energy applications.
The NRF51822 module is ultra-compact at 20mm diameter and can run from CR1632 coin-cell batteries, making it an ideal solution for wearable devices, IoT sensors, and other battery-operated devices. 4GHz transceiver that supports both chip solutions and module solutions. If you're interested in programming the NRF51822 iBeacon module, note that Core Bluetooth is a fairly low-level framework and not very easy to learn.
